Thanks! The code was tricky, actually, despite just being a bit of dodging and blue lines I kept having to adjust it to suit the background as I have a terrible habit for doing the backgrounds lat! XD Glad you liked it!
Hmm... I used references for all of it though the face was the bit that took the most time, as I was determined to make it look realistic. XD Guess I succeeded and failed at the same time. Thank you! ^.=.^ *offers cookie*
hmmm, how to explain what I think...I LOVE IT I wants it, lol. Really the hair is amazing, very detailed. The skin looks perfect, very human, yet obviously not human too. Her eyes are captivating, and I love the datastreams. Also the background suits her very nicely. Well done, it's brilliant
Haha, well, yet another awesome picture from you First attempt at a humanoid you say+ Wow... Really.. Wow... And you even managed to make her looks so good, even by professional standards.
First, her hair looks phenomenal, as it is fully detailed, and amazingly good. And yet you even managed to make it look transparent, and that was an awesome effect. And all those small "bubbles" of shine in her hair gives it such an good feeling of depth, so great job on that.
The entirety of her is shaded so well, and that is truly amazing for a first try, you know And further on, her bionic parts (or stream of data, or what it is) looks so really good, as you added a depth to the skin, making it so that you can see the layer of shin above the dark and blue stream. And the way you made it shows the blue against the dark so really well, and it gives her a great look.
And those lines on her side was an awesome touch, as they really make her shimmer, and look like she is fading away in places, and stabilizing herself. Just like a Hologram oughta look Haha, it was really great, and you didn't overdo the shine, so great job there!
Juust two small things that looks odd though, and that is that her left eye (the eye to your right) looks a tad bit smaller then her other eye, and the iris is a bit smaller as well, which I think makes her a tad bit odd-looking. The other thing is that I think her palm is too thin, and looks a bit off But I am not that good at anatomy, so that might jsut be me.
And the background was really greatly done as well! the painting style you used really adds to the shine of the metal in the background! Even if you left it as a sketch in many places, they still look awesome, as the sketch fits so well So yeah!
Hmhm, another long comment from my wonderful analyst ^.=.^ Thank you, again, for being so awesomely thorough! Yup, my first humanoid, and long after the days in school trying to sketch a person using a few circles and a mirror X3 This was done entirely in Photoshop CS3 with just a few images as reference, mainly for her markings and for the face.
I'm steadily mastering hair but it's thanks to magazines. Some of them, especially the ones directed at digi artists, show some great tips for doing hair. My personal tip is... Don't use the dodge brush until after using a light and dark paint brush line-drawing technique ^^ The transparency is an easy one, I just lowered the opacity I kept the brightness, though, by duplicating a layer and making it 'screen' the one below it. The 'bubbles' are similar to the streams of data running through her, since her hair is also an area within which her codes are visible XD
The skin was done as just a blue block-coloured shamble X3 I shaded it then placed some blue markings over the top, selected them (wand tool FTW) and deleted them from the layer beneath. This meant that the light blue 'skin' below the dark blue parts was deleted, meaning the transparency of the dark blue layer could be altered without the light blue underneath causing unwanted interference.
I got the idea of a shimmer fro a photo of a statue, and there was this really nice lighting effect I was trying to mimic but I kinda failed and made this happen instead X3 I tried so many times to get the shimmeryness right 0.o
Yup, the eye caught my attention too but it is actually the same size as the other eye. I think it's the shading on that side that makes the eye seem smaller, since part of the eye is occluded by shadow. And yes, the hand is wrong >.=.< I only noticed after you pointed it out, so thanks for making me aware. I need to work on hands but at least I know the mistakes I'm making <3
Hmhm, the background was another rush job taking about four hours. It was all done with the brush tool aside from the distinct shines, which were dodged ^^
I'm really very happy you like it <3 Thank you again for such a depthy review!
Ahaha, what can I say? Anything to help you and Drieka ANd when I first take my time to comment, I try to always be thorough ^^ I like to give people critics to become better.
Haha, wow. I mean, that is really amazing, it truly is And doing it directly on PS is homg! worhty.
Ooh, I see... that is some really useful technique, so thank you so much for that I will remember that till I need it! I don't have any mags (XD Magazines) on how to make arts, but it sounds nice to read one.
Well, that is certainly a nice way to do it. Just make a block of coulour, and shade on an above layer to keep selecting easier. THat is a really great way to do it on Mhmm, that sounds like a really neat way. Thank you so much for that tips.
Oog, I see... Well, failed or not, you really got out the holographic effect, and dude it looks sweet! It really suits the picture, so I would say you got it juust right
Ahh, I see... well, it still looks good, so nothing to worry about. The eye should be occluded a bit due to its location, but yeah, the hand lacked a bit of a palm Haha, well, no problem at all. Any flaws I can help you improve on is great
THAT DOES NOT SOUND LIKE A RUSH JOB!!!! FOUR HOURS IS MUUUUCHO DDD: Well, I see ^^ IT still look really great, so amazing work!
And I am really happy you liked the comment <3 Thank you as well
OOOOO A SPARKALY WOMAN!!! lol i dont usually like pictures of naked women, but this is fantastic!!!! i love the florescent body colour, it gives her a glowy-look. And you have the shading JUST right with a smooth soft look. i love the patterns which go down her body, they make her look like a species of Startrek XD very nice detail within those patterns aswell!! i especially love her hair, youve captured each blue strand very well! i love hoe youve made her hair look so light and soft which is quite hard to achieve! (well it is for me ) her face is really well done as well, you have all her facial features in there right place which is quite difficult (for me) (i always get the nose in the wrong position XD) her eyes look amazing! they almost look so realistic i want to poke her eye 0_0 LOL mabe i wont try... and the backy is interesting, it gives it a kinda futuristic look! I WISH I COULD DO HAIR LIKE YOU!!! ive started my half of the trade and done Grays head with hair..im getting better, but i still need to improve!! very amazing/impressive drawing!!
o.O Lol, she's not naked! It'd be under 'mature' if she was naked! X3 She's a hologram, so yus... She doesn't have a need for clothes cuz... erm... there's nothing to cover? I'm glad you like it, the lighting was a little puzzling in this one. I was troubling myself over the shading. How do you shade a body that gives off light? XD Heheh, Star Trek is such a fitting comparison, seeing as she's based on 'Cortana' from the Halo video games. <3 The hair went well, yush yush, but tis easy with a few hundred flicks of a teblet pen! *dances* Getting a face right is always tricky. Humans have a knack for picking out the slightest thing wrong with a face, and so it doesn't take a major error to make a face seem artificial. Hmhm, I'm sure she wouldn't appreciate you poking her in the eye, though you'd go right through her as she's not really there *shifty eyes* Hmhm, I went for futuristic-meets-steampunk, kinda... Practise makes as close to perfect as possible! Keep trying! I'm still trying to master hair, to be honest. I take so long doing it... I'm sorry to say I have yet to start your half of the trade, though with luck I shall have plenty of spare time to work on it once the bulk of college work out of the way. Thank you so much, and I'm looking forward to completing this trade <3
